The World's Thinnest Smartphone Crown Goes To... Posted: 27 Nov 2011 11:11 AM PST The battle for the world's slimmest smartphone title rages on. In January 2011, TP-favorite LG Optimus Black, which measures only 9.2 millimeters was officially announced by the Korean company and was given the monicker "World's Thinnest Android Phone with the World's Brightest NOVA Display". At that point, LG Optimus Black also beat the 9.3-millimeter-thick Apple iPhone 4 to become the slimmest smartphone in the world. A few months after, Samsung - not to be left behind - released its flagship Android handset, Samsung Galaxy S2 with depth of just 8.49 millimeters, effectively making it the new thinnest smartphone ever. Earlier this month, however, American company Motorola shocked the tech world by releasing the latest iteration to its popular Razr line, the Motorola Droid Razr, which measures only a measly 7.1 millimeters -- enough to take home the coveted crown. Considering how thin Motorola Droid Razr is, it's easy to imagine that the smartphone would hold title for a considerable period. I mean 7.1 millimeters is already very very thin. But apparently, Japanese electronics giant Fujitsu has long been preparing for this battle and is now poised to grab the crown off Motorola's head. Meet Fujitsu Arrows F-07D -- With depth of only 6.6 millimeters, Fujitsu Arrows F-07D will effectively supersede Motorola Droid Razr as the thinnest smartphone in the world when it officially gets released within this quarter. Note though that while this is an incredible feat, Fujitsu made a few compromises with its phone's innards. Motorola Droid Razr runs on a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and has 32GB of storage. On the other hand, Fujitsu Arrows F-07D only has a single-core 1.4 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, and 1 GB of storage. Stay tuned for updates. I have a feeling Fujitsu won't be holding that title for long. |
Posted: 27 Nov 2011 03:11 AM PST As of writing, both KC Concepcion and Piolo [Pascual] are trending on Twitter not just in the Philippines but Worldwide! As I've earlier explained on TP, a keyword or a topic achieves worldwide trending status on Twitter when it receives a considerable volume of related tweets from various territories the world over. Note, however, that Twitter has yet to disclose its exact metrics or criteria in choosing trending topics. Aside from this being yet another proof that the Philippines is undeniably the Social Networking Capital of the World (i.e. when Pinoys want to make a topic trend on Twitter worldwide, we can do it just like that), it also means that something big is happening between the two Kapamilya celeb lovers. So what exactly is happening between KC and Piolo?! Well, at the risk of you thinking I'm totally chismoso, *aherm* apparently they've just broken up. Watch KC's The Buzz one-on-one interview with Boy Abunda and hear things straight from her: Credit: The Buzz, First uploaded on Youtube by PinoyTeleseryeOnline, TP Disclaimer on online videos applies. "Hindi ako ng hinahanap niya... Hindi ko mabigay yung kailangan niya...," shares KC. Gee, I wonder what Piolo is looking for exactly. I mean, KC is already near perfect; Physically, at the very least. |
