I've just received information from TP's valued source that Samsung Electronics Philippines Corporation is finally set to release the follow-up to the hugely successful entry-level touchscreen phone, Samsung Champ from 2010.

TP Friends, this is Samsung Champ 2nd Generation or simply Samsung Champ 2:


Samsung Champ 2, being a budget touchscreen handset, comes with basic features including a 2 MegaPixel camera, QVGA video recorder, 2.4-inch resistive touchscreen, 20 MB of storage, microSD card slot, and FM radio. As for connectivity, you won't get Wifi nor 3G but there's support for Bluetooth. The phone runs a proprietary operating system skinned by the latest version of Samsung's TouchWiz user interface for entry-level releases.

According to our insider, Samsung Champ 2 will be publicly available in time for your Holiday shopping. He says that stocks arrived just a few days ago and are now waiting to be dispatched to stores.

UPDATE: Some TP Friends are reporting that they've already spotted Samsung Champ 2 in some Samsung retail stores in malls.
