Globe iPhone 4S via Postpaid Plans - Officially Announced!

Not to be outmaneuvered and outsmarted by - well - Smart Communications, Globe Telecom today proved that it's not going to take an obvious offensive from its main rival sitting down.

Practically just seconds after Smart officially announced that it's going to be a new carrier of Apple iPhone 4S in the Philippines, Globe Telecom quickly unveiled a site revamp shocking the whole tech community (and perhaps, even Smart):


Altogether slamming earlier speculations and malicious rumors stating that Globe Telecom's contract with Apple had already lapsed, Globe today formally announced that it remains to be an authorized and official carrier of iPhone in the Philippines.

So what does this mean to postpaid subscribers and iPhone fans in the Philippines: Well, we now have a choice, which is always a good thing.

Let's see which company will reign supreme (in selling iPhone 4S, at least.)

Smart iPhone 4S via Postpaid Plans - Officially Announced!

As if vindicating TP's Apple iPhone 4S Smart Postpaid insider report last November 12, Smart Communications today announced that company is now an official carrier of Apple's current flagship handset in the Philippines.

Just a sidenote: Putting in things in perspective, prior to iPhone 4S, Globe Telecom has always been the only authorized carrier of iPhone in the Philippines; from the first release in 2007 up to iPhone 4 of 2010. So you can imagine how big a development this news is for Smart Communications.

According to the corporate website, Apple iPhone 4S is coming this December 16, 2011.

Anyway. The Pinoy Twitter community is now abuzz with this development. In fact, the volume of related tweets is so overwhelming that the hashtag #SMARTiPhone4S has become a certified Twitter Trending Topic in this territory:
