When it comes to imaging capabilities, there are perhaps no two smartphones better to compare against each other than Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc - which is inarguably one of the best cameraphones of 2011 - and Apple iPhone 4S, the best cameraphone from Apple thus far. Both of these handsets have an 8 MegaPixel camera with advanced optics made by Sony and a backlit sensor that's supposed to perform well in low-light conditions. I did this shoot-out to find out which of these two smartphones with largely similar imaging technology behind them delivers higher quality indoor Macro shots, which I think is one of the most challenging shots to take for any camera. All photos were taken using automatic settings and with no flash. Quality is a matter of personal preference so I'm letting you decide which phone wins this round. TP Friends, kindly leave your comments below. TP Thoughts: Personally, I think Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc held its own pretty well against iPhone 4S, which is clearly a tough competitor to beat in this department. I think it's amazing how Arc could be a year old and still be one of the best cameraphones out there - along with Nokia N8. I join other SE fans who are eagerly waiting to see the camera performance of the 2012 follow-up to Sony's flagship, which I believe will be named Sony Ericsson Xperia HD. That one should be a true winner. |
