Globe Tattoo Resistance Campaign : Explained by Dong Ronquillo, Head of Nomadic Broadband Business Posted: 20 Jan 2012 11:57 AM PST By now, I'm sure you've seen Globe Tattoo's new #Resistance Campaign TVCs and online videos -- the ones featuring Nonito Donaire, Georgina Wilson and Miggy Chavez. They look cool and all and the overall message is great but if they leave you wondering how exactly is resistance related to Globe Tattoo as a brand, TP has the answer; And it came from no less than Globe Telecom's Head of Nomadic Broadband Business, Mr. Dong Ronquillo. He told the crowd at Globe Tattoo's Resistance Ambassadors Launch at the Ayala Museum the other night, "The resistance is all about not settling for anything less. Actually, it's yearning to be great. And that's how we are in Globe. Because we maybe a challenger, but we are a very strong challenger and we are actually defining the market, as you could see with Tattoo now. [So for this year,] we are relaunching the whole Tattoo portfolio from 'nomadic' [to] 'at home' to give superior products and services to our subscribers. We want to resist limitations, mediocrity and uniformity. The good thing about Tattoo is that it enables or it makes everyone aspire to be [...] better; And that is what the whole campaign is all about. [As you can see], we have chosen some new ambassadors this year to represent the brand, to represent the youth and [inspire them] to better themselves." How about you, TP Friend? What's your #Resistance? |
Posted: 20 Jan 2012 12:14 AM PST TechPinas Exclusive! Here's the smartphone we've all been waiting for: Me and Nokia Lumia 800, TP Friends! I got the chance to play with the Finnish company's first Windows Phone Mango handset at Nokia Philippines' Media Thanksgiving event held yesterday at the Philamlife Tower Club in Paseo de Roxas, Makati City. Off hand, here's what I can say about the much-anticipated phone: 1. Nokia Lumia 800's polycarbonate monoblock design is almost 100% similar to that of Nokia N9 except for two thing: It has a hardware camera button on the right side, below the power button and it has three touch sensitive Windows Phone buttons below the screen. 2. Colors look brilliant and details appear crisp on the 480 x 800 pixels 3.7-inch AMOLED display. 3. Windows Phone Mango's user interface is gorgeous. The tile-centric UI design is not only functional - in the sense that it's simple and easy to navigate - but it's also very beautiful. There are at least 10 vibrant hues - including Lime, Orange, Pink, Purple and Blue - you can choose from as Tile color. 4. What makes Nokia Lumia 800 stand out from other WP7.5 handsets I've used is that it comes with powerful Nokia applications that we've grown to love like Nokia Drive and Maps, and of course, there's the 8 MegaPixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics. 5. If you've been on Android for quite sometime now, I invite you to try out Windows Phone. I promise you, you will appreciate the responsiveness of the screen and the smoothness of transitions. I think that if there's a platform that can match or even surpass iOS in terms of those features, it's definitely WP. So when will the phone be officially released in the Philippines and how much will it cost? I believe the phone will be available here sometime in Q2 - or maybe by March 2012. My price guesstimate is around Php 25,000. That's it for now, TP Friends. Keep tuning in for updates! |
