One of my goals here in TechPinas is to bring gadget experience closer to my readers by sharing videos that highlight what makes each gizmo I play with special.
Yesterday saw the official launch of the ultra-tough Android 2.3-powered Sony Ericsson Xperia Active in the Philippines.
Although the official suggested retail price of the smartphone was kept under wraps during the event (I'm guessing it's around Php 13,000 - Php 15,000 though), Sony Ericsson nonetheless gave members of the media an opportunity to play with the handset:
What makes Sony Ericsson Xperia Active special, you ask? Well, true to its name, this phone is ideal for people who live active lives yet still want to enjoy the features and functionalities of a capable Android handset wherever their lifestyle takes them. IP67 Certified, Sony Ericsson Xperia Active is shock, dust and water resistant, making it a perfect companion in marathons, hikes and dives (just don't take it too deep under water!).
But don't take my word for it, here's a video of the handset being submerged in water and still working fine - as if nothing happened - after the test:
Isn't that amazing?!
Sony Ericsson Xperia Active comes with a 5 MegaPixel autofocus camera with LED flash and a 720p HD Video Recorder!
I'll keep you posted as soon as I get word from Sony Ericsson on the official price tag of this smartphone. In the meantime, here's the complete technical specifications table:
